BRIEF
Promote the benefits to businesses, particularly SMEs, of taking on an apprentice and the support on offer from the Kirklees Apprenticeship Hub to companies who were interested in starting an apprenticeship scheme.
APPROACH
We worked with five businesses to produce case studies of their experiences with apprentices – these included written pieces, creative photography and video packages. These were then supported by a range of media releases around key dates, such as National Apprenticeship Week and Kirklees Business Week.
RESULTS
Achieved £116,000 worth of PR coverage reaching over half a million people with a wide range of coverage across different publications and outlets. These included specialist publications in the sectors of the businesses featured, and coverage across Yorkshire and Kirklees. This resulted in a large increase in the number of enquiries for businesses, so much so that the Council is now having to begin a campaign to find young people to fill the apprenticeship roles available.
