The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, which supports almost 500 member business in the region, is delighted to welcome digital agency Beanie Media as a Patron.

Founded in 2018 by then 18-year-old Melissa Roberts and Daniel Atkinson, Beanie Media is now a team of five young professionals, offering web design and development, alongside ecommerce advertising to organisations of various sizes, from start-ups to established international organisations.

Managing director of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber, Martin Hathaway said: “As a Chamber we are thrilled to welcome Beanie Media to the Patronage team. Their fresh-minded approach as well as digital expertise will bring added value to our members across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield.”

Founder and managing director of Beanie Media Melissa added: “Beanie Media has come a long way since 2018 and, despite the pandemic, we have won contracts with a number of local businesses this year. Becoming a Patron of the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce is a big step for us in being a part of our business community. We have been a member of the Chamber since 2018 and are grateful for the voice and support the Chamber has given us over the years.

“We are thankful to the scheme supported by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Northern Powerhouse, which has allowed us to take on this commitment. As a young business with a young leadership team, we want to encourage other young business owners to push ahead with their ideas and get involved with the local business community.”

Earlier this year, the Chamber secured a £100k grant from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to support post-coronavirus business recovery and growth across the region by offering over 400 subsidised memberships (including Patronages) to businesses in Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield. Under this scheme, memberships are reduced up to 75% and give businesses access to numerous advice and support services as well as financial and employee benefits.
