MD to sit on Chamber’s new local sub-board

Written by Faith PR Team

We are proud to announce that founder of Faith PR Stefanie Hopkins has been invited to sit on a new local sub-board created by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.

The Calderdale Chamber Council is one of three local sub-boards set up across the Chamber’s regions alongside Wakefield District Council and Huddersfield District Council.

The Chamber’s Mission is to protect and develop the interests of business in the districts of Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield as well as to give local businesses a voice. The formation of the new local sub-boards aims to allow local business owners to have a voice on local authorities’ and government policy plans and help make a difference within the local business community

Each group will have a chair and 7 to 12 members who will concentrate on the business views and issues which are important to each area. This will then be reported back to the main board from each region’s representative.

The Local Area Board will meet once a quarter to discuss things on the business community agenda and any issues surrounding their local areas. In addition, members will have the responsibility to attend various local and Council committees to represent the Chamber.

Joining Stefanie on the Calderdale Chamber Council are Vicky Atkinson of Riley & Co, Judith Wright of Wright Angle Marketing and Nathan Curbishley of PMD Business Finance. It is currently recruiting further members.

Stefanie said: “I feel honoured to be invited to the Calderdale board. It’s a great opportunity to be able to input into policies and decisions affecting the local business community before they are implemented, and ensure that the voices of the businesses in the area are heard. I look forward to working with other members to have a positive impact on issues that are important to myself and other local businesses.”
