Showcasing entrepreneurial Yorkshire

The brief

To promote the West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency’s work supporting individuals placed on the Government’s New Enterprise Allowance start their own businesses and find mentors to provide business advice to them.

Our approach

We examined the list of around 2,000 individuals who had started business through the New Enterprise Allowance and, working with the West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency, identified the most interesting and compelling stories to be presented to the media, online and through social media.

Once identified, our in-house video production team met with the entrepreneurs, filmed an interview with them and then edited this into short videos which were used on the Enterprise Agency’s YouTube channel, website and social media.

From these interviews, case studies were written and high quality photography co-ordinated to be used with media across West Yorkshire to showcase both the individual businesses and the support given by the Agency.

Business start-ups through the New Enterprise Allowance were supported by business mentors in the MYMentor network and we organised an event to highlight their own and encourage more leading business figures to sign up to join the mentoring scheme.

This showcased not only the work of the individual entrepreneurs, their businesses and the mentors who supported them but the impact the West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency was having on the regional economy.

As well as organising and hosting the event, we designed and produced a range of marketing materials to support the event including mugs, USB drives and a full brochure.

Results
