The Strategic Mailing Partnership (SMP) is preparing to welcome its members and some of the industry's largest operators to its second 'Technical Summit' event.
Experts from Royal Mail, WPN Chameleon, the DSA carriers and MarketReach will all be coming together to discuss a range of topics set to shape the mailing industry this year such as GDPR, the newly-launched JICMail and the future of direct mail.
The day-long Technical Summit will be the second of its kind organised by the SMP following its successful inaugural event which saw around 100 industry experts come together to talk about their ideas, experiences and ambitions for the direct mail sector.
Judith Donovan CBE, Chair of the SMP, said: “The feedback we received from our inaugural event meant it was a no-brainer to continue rolling out these Summits annually, so we can really showcase how the SMP can work together.
“It’s going to be an exciting year for mail following the introduction of GDPR and all of the opportunities that presents. Many people still have questions around GDPR and it’s our jobs to communicate effectively with our customers and clients.
“Our Technical Summit will help address the key areas the mailing industry is focusing on, answer any questions operators and members might have as well as tackle the topic on the future of direct mail.”
The Technical Summit will include presentations from Sue Whalley, COO of Royal Mail Letters & Networks, and John Watson, Chairman and Group CEO of creative agency WPN Chameleon, Rosemary Smith from data protection and permission marketing consultancy Opt-4, as well as include roundtable opportunities for mailing operator representatives to discuss topics such as ‘How to protect mail’.
The Technical Summit takes place on 1st March, from 9am-4.15pm at the London Phoenix Centre.
